Woodbridge Police Arrest Two For Burglary, Weapons Charges

WOODBRIDGE — Two men face various charges including burglary, theft and weapons possession in separate investigations by the Woodbridge Police Department, according to the latest arrest blotter.

Lamar Lawrence, 31, of New Haven, was arrested Nov. 17 after officers executed a warrant while he was in New Haven Superior Court for an unrelated case.

Lawrence’s charges stem from an incident in August when he allegedly entered a local business and stole a customer’s vehicle.

He faces charges of third-degree burglary, third-degree larceny, second-degree criminal trespass and first-degree criminal mischief.

After his arraignment, Lawrence was released back to the Department of Corrections.

In a separate case, Kevin Cartee, 41, of Woodbridge, turned himself in to police on November 20.

Cartee’s arrest followed an investigation into court order violations in October and the discovery that he was in possession of firearms.

He was charged with violating an order of protection, violating conditions of release and six counts of criminal possession of a firearm.

After posting a $25,000 bond, Cartee was transferred to the New Haven Police Department, which also had an active warrant for him.

A court date was scheduled for the same day as his surrender.
