A multi-vehicle crash in Arlington killed one and seriously injured two others Saturday

Arlington police are investigating after a multi-vehicle crash killed a man and seriously injured two women early Saturday morning.

Police say they responded to the 300 block of N. Watson Road near Division Street around 1 a.m. Saturday after receiving reports that an SUV had struck pedestrians and a vehicle. At the scene, the police allegedly saw a 31-year-old man and a 42-year-old woman injured on the ground.

The man, identified as Tyler White by Tarrant County coroner’s office online records, later died at a local hospital. The unidentified woman is in critical condition, according to a press release issued Saturday afternoon.

Police say in the same statement that first responders also had to extricate an unidentified 31-year-old woman from her BMW X1, and she was in critical condition when she was transported to a local hospital.

Investigators have determined so far that the 42-year-old woman lost control of her 2016 Hyundai Veloster while driving on N. Watson Road and left the roadway, according to the news release. She called family members for help. The man then drove to the location before parking his 2004 GMC Yukon in the right lane with his hazard lights on, police said.

As the two individuals exited their vehicles, the BMW approached the area at a high rate of speed and struck both of them as well as the Yukon, according to the news release.

Arlington police say charges are pending the outcome of the investigation and have not ruled out alcohol as a possible factor.
