Laborer dies after falling from 4th floor in Nashik Road

Nashik: A 42-year-old laborer died after falling from the fourth floor of an under-construction residential building on Friday afternoon.
The deceased person has been identified as Chottelal Sugriv Kaul, a native of Satna in Madhya Pradesh. He lived in Wadalgaon of the city.
Kaul was one of the workers in the residential building at Chehedi Pumping in Nashik Road area. The Nashik Road police registered a case of accidental death and informed that around 12.15 pm, Kaul was lifting a pile of bricks tied to a rope from the fourth floor.
The accident occurred when the rope broke and he became unbalanced and fell to the ground. As a result, he suffered serious injuries. The site supervisor and son of the deceased, Lalit Kaul, rushed him to civil hospital in Nashik. However, the doctors at the civil hospital declared him dead on arrival.
A senior Nashik Road police officer said the case is under investigation. If the builder or owner of the building or the site manager is found guilty of not providing safety equipment to the workers at the site, an FIR will be registered against them under the charge of causing death due to negligence.
