Man arrested in Lynchburg sex trafficking investigation

LYNCHBURG, Va. – A man was arrested following a sex trafficking investigation by the Lynchburg Police Department and Virginia State Police, LPD said.

Authorities said their investigation began in June and focused on suspicious activity occurring on the 700 block of Leesville Road. They conducted what they called “Operation White Rabbit” on December 12, which executed search warrants in Lynchburg and Thomasville, North Carolina.

The executed search warrants led to the arrest of Thomas Lee Thomas II, 58, of Thomasville, North Carolina. He was charged with the following:

  • Receiving money from the earnings of male or female prostitutes

  • Commercial sex trafficking

  • Conspiracy to commit sex trafficking

  • Keeping, living in or visiting an obscene place for immoral purposes

  • Receiving money for procuring or placing a person in a location for the purpose of sex trafficking

Thomas is currently awaiting extradition back to Virginia.

LPD thanked the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office in Lexington, North Carolina for their assistance in this case.
