Two hotel staff have been charged in connection with the death of One Direction singer Liam Payne. According to a new report from Rolling Stone, an Argentinian judge has indicted the workers, according to newly released documents.

Court files reveal that the two accused persons are employees of CasaSur Palermo. The first is the hotel manager, while the second is the head receptionist who had called 911 during the October 16 incident when Liam Payne apparently caused a disturbance in the premises.

For those who don’t know, the One Direction star suffered a fatal fall from a third floor balcony in Buenos Aires.

It remains unclear at this time what specific charges the hotel staff members are facing. The report states, however, that the judge has, for the time being, notified the manager and the receptionist about the accusations and identified them as suspects, summoning them to hearings.

This comes amid an ongoing investigation by local authorities looking into the events leading up to Liam Payne’s death.

The filing, as reported by Billboard, states, “Because there is sufficient reason to suspect that they participated in the act under investigation, we are requesting that the following individuals give a statement.”

Previously, three people were charged in this case. Two hotel employees are accused of supplying Payne with drugs, while a friend is accused of desertion resulting in death. All three were detained by police in November.

Reports indicate that these five people will appear before the courts, and after the hearings, the judge will determine whether they should be prosecuted further or removed from the case.

Liam Payne died on October 16, 2024, following multiple traumas. A toxicology report revealed that the singer had multiple substances in his system at the time.
