Joe Burrow is speaking out after his home was broken into while he was at a game

Joe Burrow talk after two days his house was broken into.

The 28-year-old Cincinnati Bengals quarterback addressed the Monday, Dec. 9, home invasion in Anderson Township, Ohio, while speaking with reporters on Wednesday, Dec. 11.

“So obviously everybody heard what happened,” Burrow said of the time-lapse incident was off to Texas for a game against the Dallas Cowboys.

“I feel like my privacy has been violated in more ways than one, and there’s already a lot more out there than I’d like and care to share, so that’s all I have to say about it,” he added.

According to a police report obtained by PEOPLE, Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to Burrow’s home after influencer and model Olivia Ponton’s mom called 911.

In police audio obtained by TMZPonton’s mother was heard telling a dispatcher that her daughter was “wondering what she should do, should she hide or should she come out.”

Ponton, 22, is later heard in a separate call saying, “Somebody came into my house … It’s like it’s completely messed up.”

Ponton, who was described in the police report as an employee of Burrow’s, said she noticed “a broken bedroom window and ransacked room” after arriving at the property. She would later provide police with a list of what “may be missing,” according to the report.

PEOPLE has reached out to representatives for Ponton and Burrow.

When asked if the “most frustrating thing” about the situation was how much information was revealed, Burrow said Wednesday that that was “part of it.”

“We live a public life and, you know, one of my least favorite parts is the lack of privacy, and that’s been hard for me to deal with my whole career. I’m still learning, but I understand that this is one life we ​​have. choose,” he said. “It doesn’t make anything easier to deal with.”

Another reporter asked if he was questioning his safety because “this didn’t just happen to you now because now it’s a thing where professional athletes feel targeted” — referring to the Kansas City Chiefs players Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes‘ the houses being broken within two days of each other in October.

“I’ve said all I want to say about it,” Burrow replied.
