Man seriously injured after being hit by train at Benning Road subway station in DC

A man was struck by a train at the Benning Road subway station in Northeast DC Tuesday night, according to the DC Fire and EMS Department.

Officials said D.C. firefighters pulled one person from under the train in the subway station and transported him to a local hospital with serious injuries.

The subway station between Central Avenue and 45th Street in Northeast, DC was closed while crews continued their investigation, officials said.

As a result, some trains are not running between Stadium-Armory and Capitol Heights, and officials are asking the public to use local bus routes to get there.
