Bond set at $1 million for Louisville man charged with murder in Newburgh shooting

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – A Louisville man accused of shooting and killing someone remains in jail on $1 million bail.

Damon P. Taylor, 44, was arrested at his Taylor Avenue home on Tuesday, Dec. 11, in connection with the fatal shooting investigation that began Friday, Nov. 29, in the Newburg neighborhood.

Louisville metro police said the shooting happened around 2:15 a.m. at an auto body paint business on Preston Highway near Forest Drive. When officers arrived, they found a man dead with a gunshot wound. The victim’s name has not been released.

An arrest citation said police obtained surveillance footage from multiple sources showing the moments leading up to and after the shooting.

Taylor appeared in court the morning after his arrest on a murder charge and is expected back in court next week.
