A Laplace man is facing multiple charges after being arrested for the theft and armed robbery of a pizza delivery driver.

The arrest of 18-year-old Montrell Isom comes Tuesday after he was identified by investigators with the St. John the Baptist using surveillance technology in two separate incidents involving the same delivery driver.

In the first incident, reported Friday, Nov. 29, a Domino’s Pizza delivery driver was attacked in the 2700 block of Williamsburg Drive at 11:59 p.m. while attempting to make what he thought was a legitimate delivery to a house in the area. Isom approached the delivery driver once the driver got out of the car and took the pizza from his hands without paying. The driver also gave Isom $20.

The second incident occurred on Saturday, December 7 at 11:20 pm in the 2800 block of Williamsburg Drive. The delivery driver was again approached by Isom, who pointed a gun at the driver and demanded pizza and cash. The driver gave him the pizza and $20.

In both cases, Isom’s appearance matched the description of the person of interest, as he was wearing dark clothing, which included a black collar that partially covered his face.

During the investigation it was discovered that Isom called both orders using the same phone number, which was registered to him. During the search of his home, the pizza box was found in the trash can.

Isom was charged with burglary and armed robbery and is being held in the parish jail. Bond has not been set.
