Hearing scheduled for Morgan Wallen’s chair-throwing case in Nashville Criminal Court

Hearing scheduled for Morgan Wallen’s chair-throwing case in Nashville Criminal Court

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Country music star Morgan Wallen is scheduled to appear in a Davidson County courtroom on Thursday, December 12th.

The 31-year-old singer was arrested after he was seen throwing a chair from the top of Eric Church’s bar Chief’s on the night of April 7, 2024. It was the bar’s opening weekend.

The chair reportedly landed just feet away from two Metro Nashville Police Department officers who were on foot patrol that night along Broadway.

He is charged with three counts of felony reckless endangerment and one count of disorderly conduct, which is a misdemeanor. He posted $15,250 bond and was released from the Davidson County Jail.

Wallen released an online statement ten days later regarding the incident:

By this point, Wallen had waived his right to appear in court to face the charges, opting to send his attorney, Worrick Robinson IV, in his stead.

On Tuesday, Dec. 10, Wallen’s attorney filed to have the charges transferred to Davidson County Criminal Circuit Court, which will now hear his case on Thursday, Dec. 12.

It is not known if Wallen will appear in court, but the outcome of his case could be decided that day.
