120,000 are still without power as the aftermath of Storm Darragh unfolds

Approximate 120,000 homes, farms and businesses remain without power following the powerful aftermath of Storm Darragh.

The power grid suffered widespread and extensive damage country.

All ESB Networks crews and partner contractors continued to work into the night to safely restore power to as many customers as possible in difficult conditions, before mobilizing again at first light this morning.

ESB Networks crews restored power to 275,000 customers on Saturday 7 December.

Due to the severity and significant extent of the damage, some customers could be without power for about a week. The assessment of the extent of the damage is ongoing.

It is important that all affected customers using electrically powered medical devices contact their healthcare professional to make alternative arrangements if necessary.

Given the extent of damage and the dynamic nature of the event, ESB will continue to confirm restoration times for customers and provide updates Here as information is confirmed.

ESB Networks would like to acknowledge the disruption to family and business life this is causing and would like to thank customers across the country, particularly those who will be without power over the coming days, for their patience while their crews work to restore power safe.
