CORYDON, Ind. (WAVE) – Almost two months have passed since filming at Harvest Homecoming in New Albany that left one person dead and two others injured. On Saturday, the people of Corydon gathered for a Christmas concert to raise money to help the families of the victims.

Police say 18-year-old Bryce Gerlach, who was killed in the shooting, was an innocent bystander from Corydon.

Michael Keenan, who owns Explore Outdoor Adventures and came up with the idea for the event, said he wanted to bring some holiday spirit to those affected by the shooting.

“I noticed that here people were down and talking about it and it was like a negative flow,” he noted. “So we wanted to take some time, change direction.”

The event featured vendors and a performance by country music singer JD Shelburne.

Participating vendors included Nicole Cronen, who owns Ageless agape and sells locally made skin care products.

“Knowing that our money from our stand was going straight back into the community, it was a no-brainer for us,” she said.

Cronen said her business prides itself on family, which is why it was important to her to help raise money for those families going through tough times.

“I have four kids, so we want to make sure that where our kids are growing up, they know, ‘Hey, this is what we’re doing for the people in our community, because if we were ever in this situation, we would hope that somebody would step up.’ up and help us too,’” she added.

So far, five people have been charged in connection with the Harvest Homecoming shootings. Four of them were charged with murder.
