Three were injured after the car crashed into the port cabin at Torbay Hospital

Firefighters said the driver was freed from the vehicle when crews arrived, but two people were trapped under the car.

Fire crews from Torquay and Paignton were said to have attended the scene and raised the car.

“Both victims are now in the clear and are being assessed by the ambulance service,” the statement said.

In a statement on facebook, externalTorbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust said there were diversions in place, adding that car park A was closed following the incident.

“There has been a road traffic incident at Torbay Hospital. Emergency services are on the scene,” it said.

“People due to attend on-site meetings today are encouraged to use public transport wherever possible and allow extra time for their journey.”

The BBC has approached Torbay Hospital and the fire service for comment.
