Police are investigating a bomb threat at Papillion Middle School

PAPILLION, Neb. (WOWT) – The Papillion Police Department responded to a bomb threat at a middle school Thursday morning.

In a statement, Papillion La Vista Community School officials say police, along with bomb-sniffing dogs, completed a thorough search of the area and found “no credible threat.”

The incident happened at Liberty Middle School shortly after 8 a.m

To evacuate the students, authorities temporarily blocked traffic on Highway 370. The students were then escorted back across the highway to another school.

Once students returned, school operations resumed as normal, according to the release.

School officials told parents that students could be picked up after 11 a.m. Thursday. They have counselors available for students.

The incident comes days after a “swatting” call. caused a deadlock Monday morning at Millard South High School.
