Immanuel Chillon, 18, faces charges of strangulation, a third-degree felony; unlawful restraint, a third-degree felony; disrupting public service, a fourth-degree felony; and violation of a protective order, domestic violence, battery and child endangerment, each a first-degree misdemeanor, the report said.

At 10 a.m., Elyria police were called to a residence on West Avenue, where a young woman told officers Chillon was visiting her and their child when they began arguing.

The victim told Chillon to leave, but he refused, the report states.

Chillon stopped the victim from leaving and followed her through the house, then allegedly grabbed her by the throat, choked her and pushed her against a wall before he began breaking through her personal belongings, the report said.

The two had stopped arguing, but as soon as Chillon fell asleep on the couch, the victim went to an upstairs room and started texting his ex-girlfriend, which reignited the argument, the report said.
